Since 1916, Richardson has made its mark as one of the finest makers of earthware in Staffordshire.  Crown Ducal patterns are distinctly British.  Scalloped-edged shapes on ivory ware is the predominant form. Painted and engraved fruit and floral motifs, combined with raised or embossed designs, are a trademark of Crown Ducal wares.  Traditional British scenery and historical events decorate many popular patterns.
