Epicure, China Replacements
The Epicure designed by Don Schreckengost was introduced in January of 1955 as was the first trade journal advertisement. The captions in the advertising reads; "Epicure is an oven-proof, multi purpose, casual line of dinnerware and serving pieces in four color glazes - Snow White, Dawn Pink, Turquoise Blue and Charcoal Gray. A sixteen piece set retails at $7.95." Initial orders taken at the January 1955 trade show were scheduled to be delivered by April of that year.
Pieces made in the Epicure included the creamer, sugar bowl with lid, coffee pot, covered vegetable, round vegetable bowl 8", large platter, pickle, sauceboat, ladle, salt pepper shakers, individual covered casserole, dinner plate 10", salad plate 8", bread butter plate 6", coffee cup and saucer, coupe soup 8" and cereal bowl.
