Handy Andy, China Replacements
Status: Discontinued: 1930s & 1940s
Handy-Andy 1930s & 1940s - The Handy-Andy Specialty Company, Incorporated was located on Long Island, New York. The Handy-Andy Specialty Company dealt in juice extractors, vacuum bottles, metal lunch kits, revolving trays, chrome ware, china-ware, house wares and other specialties. The Homer Laughlin Company made casserole bowls to fit the Handy-Andy chrome ware frames. At least one other pottery company, Paden City Pottery, made bowls for the Handy-Andy frames.
There is no way to know all of the decorations of the Homer Laughlin Handy-Andy pieces but in 1938 the Murphy Company purchased 6 dozen HAS-15 casseole bowls; The May Company purchased 6 dozen HAS-14 bowls and several companies ordered number HAS-25. The HAS-25 casserole has an undecorated body and the lid was decorated in the Mexicana decoration. Most Handy-Andy casseroles have chrome lids.
