Historical American Subjects was produced for the F. W. Woolworth Company who sold it through their retail stores. At least nineteen pieces were made, each decorated with scenes reproduced from the original works of Joseph Boggs Beale.
Joseph Boggs Beale was most famous for developing
pictures for magic-lantern shows, and, indeed, all the
Historical America pictures are from these paintings.
This pattern was also made in the blue, pattern #W449.
Though very hard to find, there´s a lot of enthusiasm for this line.
