Homer Laughlin China, Louis XVI 1961 Style China Replacements

Replacement China in the Louis XVI 1961 Style China Replacements made by Homer Laughlin China.

Louis XVI 1891 - The Louis XVI shape is an elegant style of embossed scrolls around the rim with tusk like handles.  This shape was the first to use the name Laughlin beneath the Lion and Eagle backstamp.  A set was exhibited at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago.  Decorators used a beautiful technique of adding matte color shadows around the edges, and the handles were treated in a color of burnt ivory.  The Patent Design number 20,968 for Louis XVI was dated July 28, 1891.
