Rhythm, China Replacements, tableware by Homer Laughlin China

Replacement China in the Rhythm china patterns made by Homer Laughlin China.

Rhythm 1950 - The Rhythm shape was designed by Don Schreckengost in 1950 at the request of Henry Lindquist, buyer for the Woolworth Company who was looking for an entirely new shape.

Rhythm was very modern in appearance, with a simple, flowing line.  The flatware pieces are either simple rounds or ovals, with no embossing or breaks in the smooth borders. The bowls look very much like the flatware, except they are deeper. Rhythm was the first coupe shape designed for and made on the automatic jigger equipment at the Homer Laughlin China Company.

Initially the Rhythm shape was made exclusively for F.  W.  Woolworth but later on was made for JJ Newberry, Wards, Sears, Pearl China, Cunningham and Pickett and others.  Solid colors included chartreuse, forest green, gray, maroon, and yellow.
The Rhythm patterns are not to be washed in a dishwasher nor used in a microwave.
