 Staples 1900s - Potteries had a group of ware that were called staple items. They were plain white or decorated individually and could be used in other lines. The White Granite staple items shown are from a 1916 Homer Laughlin China Company catalog. There were items other than what is shown here such as cake dishes, soda mugs, single and double eggcups, baby cups and baby plates. The collector can expect to find many different sizes of nappies, jugs, bakers, bowls and dishes (platters) in all of these old shapes including the dinnerware shapes.
