Homer Laughlin China, Triumph China Replacements
Replacement China in the Triumph patterns made by Homer Laughlin China.
Triumph 1959 - The Triumph China shape, "a real china for daily use" was introduced to the trade in 1959 and advertised as "Combining Old World Charm with New World Simplicity--compliments both the traditional and contemporary setting." Triumph China was the last shape Mr. Schreckengost designed before leaving his position at the Homer Laughlin China Company in 1960.
Triumph China was guaranteed for one year against breakage, yet had a delicate body and was fully oven-proof and chip resistant.
In the 1960s a line advertised as Triumph Snow White China was used as a premium for the Von's Grocery Store. The Von's Triumph China appears to be a mix of the American and Triumph shapes. The American china pieces are backstamped Triumph Snow White and the same backstamp was used on these pieces as the original 1959 Triumph line even though the shapes are different. See American China
