The Vogue Mercantile Company was a large distributor of glass and pottery. Located in New York City, they purchased dinnerware from companies like Homer Laughlin, Universary Pottery and others and then resold the dinnerware. In 1949, the Vogue Mercantile Company was renamed Vogue Ceramic Industries. Phillip Distillator of the Jackson China Company was owner of the Vogue Mercantile and Vogue Ceramic Industries. Many different Homer Laughlin shapes were sold under the Vogue backstamp.
