Homer Laughlin China, Amberstone China Replacement
Homer Laughlin China, Amberstone Fiesta line, dinnerware patterns were first introduced in 1967 and have a rich brown glaze.
The Amberstone flatware has a dark brown design, while the hollow-ware is a solid color. It was produced by The Homer Laughlin China Company and advertised as Sheffield dinnerware for super- market continuity programs. The Sheffield Amberstone was ordered directly from Sheffield Dinnerware, Customer Service Department, Newell, West Virginia.
A supermarket promotion, premium in 1967. In 1967 HLC introduced Amberstone, three years before the Fiesta line was restyled, and was the same molds that were later used for Fiesta Ironstone. Sometimes called "brown Fiesta" because the some of the pieces are found with the familiar Fiesta cast-indented trademark. Information from Homer Laughlin China, Guide to Shapes and Patterns by Jo Cunningham and Darlene Nossaman.
