Homer Laughlin China, Chelsea China Replacement

Homer Laughlin China, Chelsea replacement china, discontinued pattern made in Newell, West Virginia, USA.

The Chelsea shape was a product of the early 1930s. Chelsea has some of the visual design elements of Virginia Rose and was made by both Homer Laughlin and Taylor, Smith & Taylor. It was Taylor, Smith & Taylor who produced the shapes in a more extensive tableware line, with their backstamp predominately displayed. Chelsea was made by both manufacturers for use by Quaker Oats. It was a short lived shape with only a few pieces made.

  • Known pieces made in the Chelsea shape:
  • Oval vegetable bowl
  • Oval platter
  • Cereal bowl
  • Cup with saucer
  • Luncheon plate
  • Salad plate
  • Bread/butter plate
