For over 40 years Sakura, Inc., a the privately held company based in New York City, was a leading marketer of consumer dinnerware and a recognized design leader specializing in casual and theme products for the housewares market. The company carried an active list of highly successful licensing agreements in both art and design with David Carter Brown, Warren Kimble, Debbie Mumm, Claire Murray, and others. Then in mid-2000 the company was purchased by Oneida, Ltd.

Today, Sakura, Inc., is the ceramic tabletop arm of Oneida, Ltd., one of the country's leading marketers of casual dinnerware, dimensional accessories, melamine, acrylics, barware and flatware. Its broad distribution includes department stores, mid-tier retailers, mass market stores and leading catalogs.
